Geofencing troubleshootingUpdated 2 months ago

If you're experiencing issues with Geofencing on your smartphone, these steps are designed to ensure a smooth and efficient operation for both iOS and Android devices using the Mysa app.

1. Update Your Device:

  • Ensure your smartphone, whether it's an iOS or Android device, is running the latest version of its operating system to support optimal Geofencing functionality.

2. Key Settings for Effective Geofencing:

  • Enable Precise Location:Precise location settings must be enabled for Geofencing to accurately determine your proximity to your home. This setting ensures the Mysa app can efficiently manage your home's heating based on your location.
  • Activate Location-Based Services:Confirm that Location Based Services are activated on your device to allow the Mysa app to use Geofencing effectively.
  • App Background Operation: Keep the Mysa App Running in the Background For optimal Geofencing performance, it's crucial to allow the Mysa app to operate in the background.
  • Background App Refresh/Data Usage: Enable background app refresh on iOS or allow background data usage on Android to ensure the Mysa app can transmit location data effectively, preparing your home for your arrival.
  • Maintain an Active Mobile Data Connection:A stable mobile data connection is essential for the Mysa app to transmit location data necessary for Geofencing. Ensure that Mobile Data is active and not restricted for the Mysa app in your device's settings.

3. Optimizing Geofencing Performance:

  • Data Plan and Roaming: Be aware that your mobile network provider's data limitations or roaming restrictions could impact Geofencing performance. Check your plan or settings if you suspect this could be an issue.
  • Power-Saving Modes: To ensure the Mysa app functions properly in the background, avoid using any power-saving modes that might restrict background data or app activity.

4. Shortcuts

When you enter or leave a geolocation zone, a shortcut is automatically triggered.

For example, when you enter a set zone, the “Home” shortcut may be activated, and when you leave it, the “Away” shortcut may be launched.

Make sure you set your shortcuts to the desired temperatures!

5. Schedules

Geofencing will override set schedules.
