Energy & Usage Troubleshooting

Last updated: September 2, 2026

Energy and Insights are estimates and runtime views, not a copy of the utility bill. What you see depends on the hardware: some models measure kWh, some only record how long the system ran, and Lite baseboards have no power monitoring.

Quick checks

  1. Open the thermostat and look for Energy, Usage, or Insights — the label depends on the product.

  2. Set Electricity Rate in Manage Homes > Home > Electricity Rate (or thermostat settings on some baseboards) using the $/kWh from your bill.

  3. Do not compare a colder month to a milder one and assume the thermostat caused the increase.
