Faceplate Looks Scratched

If your thermostat's faceplate appears scratched, it's very likely still covered with a thin protective plastic film rather than actually damaged.

Why This Happens

This film is applied at the factory to protect the display from scratches during shipping and delivery. From certain angles or lighting, the film itself can look like scratching or scuffing on the display — but it's just the protective layer doing its job.

How to Fix It

1. Gently lift a corner of the film

2. Slowly peel the film off the faceplate

Once removed, the display underneath should look clean and unscratched.
