Energy Usage and Charting

Mysa for Baseboards can track how much energy your heater uses and estimate your heating costs.

Note Energy charting is available on V2 and V1 only. Lite does not have power monitoring.

How Energy Tracking Works

V2 and V1 have built-in power monitoring that measures how much energy flows through the thermostat to your heater. The app displays this as:

  • Energy used (kWh)
  • Estimated cost (based on your electricity rate)
  • Usage over time (daily, weekly, monthly charts)

Viewing Energy Usage

  1. Open the Mysa app
  2. Select your thermostat
  3. Tap Energy

You'll see charts showing your heating energy usage over time.

Setting Your Electricity Rate

To see accurate cost estimates, enter your electricity rate:

  1. Go to thermostat settings
  2. Tap Electricity Rate
  3. Enter your rate per kWh (check your electricity bill)
  4. Tap Save

If you have tiered rates or time-of-use rates, enter your average rate. The cost estimate won't be exact, but it will be directionally correct.

Understanding the Charts

  • Daily view — Hour-by-hour usage for the current day
  • Weekly view — Day-by-day usage for the current week
  • Monthly view — Daily usage for the current month

Higher bars mean more energy used during that period.

Tips for Reducing Energy Usage

  • Lower temperatures when you're away or asleep (use schedules or geofencing)
  • Close doors to rooms you're heating
  • Make sure windows and doors are sealed properly
  • Use the lowest comfortable temperature

Why Lite Doesn't Have Energy Tracking

Lite is a budget model without power monitoring hardware. It controls your heater but cannot measure energy flow. If energy tracking is important to you, consider V2.
