Smart Limit Protection — Protect Your Flooring

Smart Limit Protection caps the maximum floor temperature to prevent heat damage to sensitive flooring materials like hardwood, laminate, and luxury vinyl.

How It Works

When enabled, Smart Limit Protection prevents the floor from exceeding a set temperature—regardless of your thermostat setpoint. This protects flooring from warping, fading, or other heat damage.

| Setting | Default |

| Default temperature cap | 30°C (86°F) |

| Customizable | Yes — set to your manufacturer's recommendation |

Setting Up Smart Limit Protection

During initial app setup, you'll select your floor type. The app sets an appropriate temperature limit based on common manufacturer recommendations.

To adjust the limit:

  1. Open the Mysa app
  2. Tap the In-Floor thermostat
  3. Tap Settings
  4. Select Smart Limit Protection
  5. Adjust the maximum floor temperature
  6. Tap Save

Tip Check your flooring manufacturer's documentation for the recommended maximum temperature. Most recommend staying below 27–30°C (80–86°F).

Supported Flooring Types

Smart Limit Protection works with all flooring types, including:

  • Hardwood
  • Laminate
  • Luxury vinyl plank (LVP)
  • Tile and stone
  • Engineered wood

When the Limit Is Reached

If the floor reaches the Smart Limit temperature, Mysa stops heating even if the setpoint hasn't been reached. The thermostat resumes heating when the floor cools below the limit.

Note Smart Limit Protection uses the floor sensor reading. A floor sensor must be installed for this feature to work.
