Sharing & Access Troubleshooting

Last updated: August 25, 2026

Shared access problems usually come down to the wrong login, a pending invite, owner-only permissions, or expecting sharing to move a used thermostat. Use the matching article after this checklist.

Start here

  1. Confirm the invited person signed in with the same email the owner typed on the invite — not a second Mysa account.

  2. On the home screen, tap the Home name at the top and switch to the shared Home. Sharing is all-or-nothing per Home (every thermostat in that Home), not per device.

  3. If the invite never arrived, see Sharing Invite Not Received or Can’t Accept — existing users also get an in-app notification, and new users get a temporary password in the email.

Then open the matching article

  • Can’t See Shared Thermostats — accepted the invite but devices are missing, or they vanished later

  • Shared User Can’t Add Devices or Change Home Settings — pairing, Home name/rate, geofencing setup, invites, or Smart Alerts fail for a shared login

  • Shared User vs. Primary Account Holder — who can do what (including product differences on schedules)

  • Away Won’t Trigger With Several People Sharing — geofencing stays in Home because one phone never left

  • How to Remove a Shared User or Leave a Home — access should end immediately; this is not an ownership transfer

  • Sharing Won’t Transfer a Used Thermostat — house sale or used unit still tied to a previous account
