Mysa Baseboard 3: Power reading

Last updated: October 5, 2026

Mysa Baseboard 3 measures voltage, current, and watts. The power reading can sit anywhere between 0 W and the heater’s full load, because the thermostat modulates heat with a triac (it is not only fully on or fully off).

Do not treat this like Mysa for Baseboards V2. V2 uses a relay, so its reading is typically 0 W or the rated wattage, with a small minimum current when the relay is closed. Baseboard 3 does not work that way.

What you will see

  • A wattage value that can be in between 0 W and full output while the room is being held at setpoint.

  • Values that change as the thermostat increases or decreases heat, not only a jump from 0 to the nameplate rating.

  • About 0 W when the thermostat is not delivering heat.

The thermostat measures voltage and current to calculate watts. That is why a mid-range reading can be real, not a glitch.

Where to look

  1. Open the Mysa app.

  2. Select your Baseboard 3.

  3. Check the power reading on the thermostat control screen (shown in watts).

If the reading looks wrong

  • Compare it with whether the heater feels warm. A mid-range wattage with a warm heater can be normal on Baseboard 3.

  • Check that heater type is set correctly (Baseboard, Fan-Forced, or Radiant).

  • If you see 0 W while the room is far below setpoint and the mode is Heat, contact support.

  • If watts stay at full load and the room is already above setpoint, turn the breaker off and contact support. Do not work on live wiring.

For energy over days or months, use Usage in the Mysa app rather than a single snapshot.
