Thermostat Preferences
Thermostat Preferences
Thermostat Preferences let you customize how your Mysa Smart Thermostat behaves — enable auto mode, set filter cleaning reminders, limit the temperature range, calibrate the temperature reading, and choose Celsius or Fahrenheit.
To access preferences, tap the thermostat from your home screen, then tap the Settings icon (bottom right) > Thermostat Preferences.
Auto Mode
When enabled, your thermostat automatically switches between heating and cooling to maintain your desired temperature. This is useful for seasons or climates where you might need both in the same day.
Filter Change Reminder
Set a reminder to clean or replace your HVAC filter. Choose how many days between reminders based on your filter type and household needs.
Note Reminders are based on calendar days, not actual HVAC runtime.
Tip: Most filters should be checked every 1–3 months. Homes with pets or allergies may need more frequent changes.
Hardware Setpoint Limits
Set the minimum and maximum temperatures that can be set from the thermostat itself. This limits the range available on the physical device.
Useful for:
- Rental properties where you want to prevent extreme settings
- Childproofing
- Energy management
Temperature Offset
Temperature Offset lets you calibrate the temperature reading on your Mysa Smart Thermostat. If the thermostat's displayed temperature doesn't match the actual room temperature, you can apply an offset to correct it.
How It Works
The offset adjusts the temperature reading up or down by the amount you set. For example, if your thermostat reads 21°C but the actual room temperature is 22°C, setting the offset to +1°C corrects the displayed reading.
- Default: 0 (no offset)
- Range: −5°C to +5°C (−9°F to +9°F)
- Increments: 1°C (or 1°F) steps
When to Use Temperature Offset
You may want to adjust the offset if:
- The thermostat is mounted near a heat source (radiator, sunny window, appliance) that causes it to read higher than the actual room temperature
- The thermostat is on a drafty or exterior wall that causes it to read lower than the actual room temperature
- You've compared the thermostat reading with a separate thermometer and noticed a consistent difference
Tip: Use a standalone room thermometer placed at a comfortable height away from direct heat or cold sources as your reference. Give the thermostat at least 15 minutes after making a change to settle at the new reading.
How to Set the Temperature Offset
- Open the Mysa app and tap the thermostat you want to adjust
- Tap the Settings icon (bottom right)
- Tap Thermostat Preferences
- Tap Temperature Offset
- Select the desired offset value
- The thermostat's displayed temperature will update to reflect the new offset
Note Temperature Offset requires Mysa app version 4.14 or later. If you don't see this option, update your app from the App Store or Google Play Store.
Important: Temperature Offset is not currently available on firmware v3 devices. Support for these devices will be added later this year.
Temperature Format
Choose whether temperatures display in Celsius (°C) or Fahrenheit (°F). This affects both the thermostat display and the Mysa app.
