Thermostat Configuration
Thermostat Configuration
Thermostat Configuration controls how your Mysa Smart Thermostat interacts with your HVAC system—configuration codes, freeze protection, and fan settings.
To access configuration settings, tap the thermostat from your home screen, then tap the Settings icon (bottom right) > Thermostat Configuration.
Caution We do not recommend changing your configuration code unless advised by Mysa support or an HVAC professional.
HVAC Configuration Code
The configuration code tells your Mysa how your HVAC system is wired and what equipment it controls. This is set during installation.
- Current Code — Shows your current configuration code
- Change — Opens a dialog to enter a new code (requires confirmation)
- Reset Configuration — Resets to default
If your HVAC isn't working as expected, the configuration code is often the issue. Use the Mysa Code Finder to find the correct code for your system, or contact install@getmysa.com.
Freeze Protection
When enabled, the heat automatically turns on when the ambient temperature drops to 7°C (45°F) or below—even if the thermostat is set to OFF.
Useful for vacation homes, cottages, or any situation where you want to prevent pipes from freezing without actively heating the space.
Staged Auxiliary Heat
If your system has auxiliary heating (electric, gas, or oil backup), you can enable automatic AUX staging. When enabled, the thermostat automatically engages auxiliary heat if the heat pump can't reach the setpoint within your configured thresholds—no need to manually switch to Aux/Emergency mode.
This feature is off by default and only appears for compatible system configurations. See Staged Auxiliary Heat for full setup details and configuration options.
Advanced Configuration
These settings control whether the fan must run when heating or cooling is active.
- Heating Requires Fan Control — Fan control is required by thermostat when heating is turned on
- Cooling Requires Fan Control — Fan control is required by thermostat when cooling is turned on
- Aux Requires Fan Control — Fan control is required by thermostat when auxiliary heating is turned on
Minimum Fan Runtime Per Hour
Set how long the fan runs per hour, regardless of whether the system is actively heating or cooling. Options: None, 15 min, 30 min, 45 min, or 60 min.
Running the fan periodically helps circulate air and maintain even temperatures throughout your home.
