Modes and Fan Control
Last updated: June 16, 2026
Mysa gives you full control over your mini-split's operating modes and fan speeds — from the app or directly on the device.
Operating Modes
Mode | What It Does |
|---|---|
Heat | Warms the room to your target temperature |
Cool | Cools the room to your target temperature |
Auto | Automatically switches between heat and cool |
Dry | Removes humidity without significant cooling |
Fan Only | Circulates air without heating or cooling |
Note Available modes depend on your specific unit. Not all mini-splits support all modes.
Special Modes Not Supported
Some unit-specific modes cannot be controlled through Mysa:
Freeze protection (8°C / 46°F)
Eco/Energy-saving
Turbo/Powerful/Jet
I-Feel/Follow-Me
To use these features, use your original remote.
Changing Modes
In the app:
Tap your thermostat
Tap the mode icon (snowflake, flame, or current mode indicator)
Select your desired mode
On the device:
Press the M (Mode) button on the side of Mysa
Each press cycles to the next available mode
The display shows the current mode icon
Fan Speed Control
Most mini-splits offer multiple fan speeds:
Low
Medium
High
Auto (unit adjusts based on need)
The number of speeds depends on your unit — typically 3 to 5 options.
In the app:
Tap your thermostat
Tap the fan icon
Select your preferred speed
On the device:
Press the Fan button (fan icon) on the side of Mysa
Each press cycles to the next speed
The display shows the current fan setting
Swing Control
If your unit supports swing, you can control it through the app:
Vertical swing — Moves the louvers up and down to distribute air throughout the room
Horizontal swing — Moves the louvers side to side (if your unit supports controlling horizontal swing remotely — many don't)
Temperature Range
Mysa supports temperatures from 16°C to 31°C (61°F to 88°F). Low temperature modes found on some heat pumps are not supported.
Off mode: Turn your unit completely off while keeping Mysa monitoring room conditions. Note that your schedule can override off mode — use "Hold Indefinitely" for a true off that won't be overridden.
Mode Indicator
Mysa indicates the current mode using the colored LEDs on the side of the device. The LED color changes based on which mode is active.
Tips for Efficient Use
Avoid big setbacks — large temperature swings are inefficient for mini-split heat pumps. Try 2-4°C setbacks for short periods like overnight. For prolonged trips or vacations, you can turn it off or set it much lower.
Dry mode is ideal for humid days when you want dehumidification without heavy cooling.
Fan Only circulates air without using the compressor, saving energy while maintaining air movement.
Higher fan speeds cool or heat faster but use more energy and create more noise.
