Warranty on Replacement Units
If you receive a replacement thermostat through a warranty claim, you may be wondering how warranty coverage applies to the new unit. Here's what you need to know.
Replacement Unit Warranty Coverage
Warranty replacement units are covered under the original warranty:
- The replacement thermostat is covered for the remainder of the original warranty period
- The warranty does not restart or extend from the date of the replacement
- All terms and conditions of the original warranty continue to apply
Note: The warranty period is calculated from the original date of purchase, not the date the replacement was received.
Example
If your original thermostat was purchased on January 1 and you received a warranty replacement on March 1:
- The replacement unit is covered for the remaining warranty period from January 1
- The coverage does not restart from March 1
If Your Replacement Unit Is Defective
If the replacement thermostat also develops a defect:
- Contact support@getmysa.com with:
- Your original order number
- Your replacement confirmation or case number
- Description of the new issue
- Photos or videos if applicable
- Our support team will review the issue and process another replacement if covered
Tip: Reference your previous warranty case number when contacting support about a replacement unit issue. This helps our team access your full history quickly.
Documentation to Keep
For warranty purposes, keep the following records:
- Original purchase receipt or order confirmation
- Warranty replacement confirmation email
- Any case numbers or support ticket references from previous claims
Important: Even after receiving a replacement, keep your original proof of purchase. The original purchase date determines your warranty coverage for all replacement units.
