Using the Mysa App
Using the Mysa App
The Mysa app is your control center for all your Mysa devices. This guide walks you through the main screens and how to navigate them.
Home Screen
When you open the app, you'll land on the home screen. This is your at-a-glance view of all your thermostats.
Each thermostat appears as a tile showing its current temperature, setpoint, and mode/HVAC status. The status indicator changes color based on what's happening: gray when idle, orange when heating, or blue when cooling. For multi-stage systems, it also shows the active stage (e.g., Heat 1, Heat 2). If a tile appears light pink, that thermostat is offline.
At the top of the screen, you'll see shortcut buttons for Home, Away, and Vacation. Tap any of these to apply that shortcut to all configured thermostats at once. If you have multiple homes set up, use the dropdown at the top to switch between them.
Tip: Pull down on the home screen to refresh and sync the latest readings from your thermostats.
To access account settings, tap the hamburger icon (top left) to open the side menu.
Device Control Screen
From the home screen, tap any thermostat tile to open its device control screen. This is where you make adjustments to that specific thermostat.
The large number in the center is your setpoint—the target temperature. Use the up/down arrows to adjust in 0.5°C (1°F) increments, or hold an arrow to scroll quickly.
Tip: Tap the setpoint number directly to open a number selector—useful for jumping to a temperature far from the current setting.
In the top left, you'll see the current room temperature (next to a red thermometer icon) and humidity (next to a blue raindrop icon). The runtime status indicator shows whether the system is actively heating (orange), cooling (blue), or idle (gray).
Tap the mode icon to switch between Heat, Cool, Auto, Fan Only, or Off. Below the main controls, you'll see the schedule status—either "Following schedule" or details about the current hold.
When you make a change, a blue status bar briefly appears across the top to confirm the command was sent to the thermostat.
Note: If the thermostat is offline, this screen shows when it was last connected and provides instructions to reconnect.
At the bottom of the screen, three tabs give you access to:
- Schedule — View and edit the weekly schedule
- Usage — See energy usage and runtime data
- Settings — Access device settings
Changing Modes and Holds
From the device control screen, tap the mode icon to open the mode menu. When you adjust the setpoint or mode, a submenu asks how long to hold the new setting:
- Follow Schedule — Cancels any hold and returns to the schedule
- Until next scheduled event — Holds until the next schedule change
- Until a specific time — You choose when to return to the schedule
- Indefinitely — Holds until you change it manually
Side Menu
From the home screen, tap the hamburger icon (top left) to open the side menu. This is where you manage account-level settings:
- Account — View and edit your account information
- Manage Homes — Add, edit, or remove homes
- Saved Schedules — View, apply, or delete saved schedules
- Add Mysa — Set up a new thermostat
- Smart Alerts — Configure temperature and humidity alerts
- Settings — App preferences and notifications
Getting Help
A question mark icon appears on every screen. Tap it to open the Get Support screen:
- Using your Mysa — Read support articles or contact support directly
- Installing a Mysa — Wiring diagrams, guides, and installation troubleshooting
- Report Bug — Submit a bug report with screenshots or recordings
FAQs
Why is my thermostat tile pink? A light pink tile means that thermostat is offline. Tap it to see when it was last connected and get steps to reconnect.
What do the colors on the mode/status indicator mean? Gray means idle, orange means actively heating, and blue means actively cooling. For multi-stage systems, it also shows the current stage.
How do I switch between homes? From the home screen, tap the dropdown at the top to select a different home.
Can I control my thermostat when it's offline? No. Commands are sent over Wi-Fi, so the thermostat must be online to receive changes from the app.
How do I report a bug or get help? Tap the question mark icon (top right of any screen) to access support articles, installation guides, or submit a bug report.
