Climate+
Climate+ helps your mini-split maintain more accurate room temperatures by compensating for the way mini-splits naturally operate.
The Problem Climate+ Solves
Mini-splits have their own internal thermostats that measure temperature at the unit — often mounted high on a wall near the ceiling. This can differ significantly from the temperature where you actually sit.
Additionally, many mini-splits stop heating or cooling slightly before reaching the target temperature, assuming the room will coast to the setpoint. This works in ideal conditions but often leaves rooms too warm or too cool.
How Climate+ Works
When you enable Climate+, Mysa:
- Monitors the actual room temperature using its sensor (positioned where you placed it — ideally near where you spend time)
- Compares this to your target temperature
- If there's a difference, sends additional IR commands to your mini-split to continue heating or cooling
Essentially, Mysa acts as a smarter thermostat that measures temperature where it matters and overrides the mini-split's internal thermostat when needed.
Enabling Climate+
- Open the Mysa app
- Tap your thermostat
- Tap Settings (gear icon)
- Enable Climate+
When to Use Climate+
Enable Climate+ when:
- Your mini-split consistently stops before reaching the target temperature
- The mini-split's wall position causes inaccurate temperature readings
- You want tighter temperature control
Consider disabling Climate+ if:
- You hear frequent beeping (Mysa sending many commands)
- Your unit already maintains accurate temperatures
- You prefer the mini-split's native control
Why Your Unit Might Beep More
With Climate+ enabled, Mysa may send additional IR commands to keep your unit running until the room reaches the target. Each command causes your unit to beep — this is normal and indicates Mysa is actively managing temperature.
If the beeping is excessive:
- Check that Mysa is positioned for accurate room temperature readings (not in direct sunlight or near heat sources)
- Adjust your target temperature slightly
- Consider disabling Climate+ if your unit already performs well
Climate+ and Energy Use
Climate+ may increase energy use slightly because it ensures your unit reaches and maintains the exact target temperature. However, it prevents the discomfort of rooms that never quite get comfortable.
