In-Floor Temperature Sensor/ProbeUpdated 8 months ago
Learn more about the temperature sensor/probe for In-Floor.
Where can I buy an additional temperature sensor/probe?
Mysa for In-floor works with a wide range of temperature sensors, so most 3rd party sensors will work. If you want to match the specifications of the included sensor, you can purchase a sensor with the following specifications:
10K Ohm probe at 25°C.
Length of 15 ft.
What type of sensor or probe does ship with?
Mysa for In-floor ships with a 15 ft (3m) 10k Ohm sensor/probe.
Should I install a second in-floor temperature sensor or probe with my Mysa?
Although floor sensors or probes rarely fail once installed, many electricians and flooring professionals recommend installing an additional floor sensor to prevent repairing the entire floor in case of sensor failure. If you choose to install an additional floor sensor, we recommend installing a 15 ft (3M) 10k Ohm sensor and tucking the end of the sensor in the electrical box.
Can I install a floor sensor before Mysa arrives?
Yes, we recommend installing a 15 ft (3M) 10k Ohm sensor for any installations prior to receiving Mysa.
What is the ideal placement for the In-Floor sensor?
Our recommendations would be to place the in-floor temperature sensor in a central location within the room, away from direct sunlight, drafts, doorways, and windows. This ensures it accurately measures the floor's temperature for consistent heating. The sensor should be installed close to the floor's surface, under the flooring material, to effectively monitor and regulate the heating system based on the actual floor temperature, providing comfort and energy efficiency
We strongly advise consulting the manufacturer's recommendations for the flooring system in use, as they often provide guidance on sensor placement. This advice is crucial because the optimal location can vary depending on the specific type of in-floor heating system.
Will Mysa In-floor work with my existing in-floor sensor or probe?
Yes, Mysa In-floor is compatible with most existing in-floor temperature sensors or probes. During setup, you will be asked to select the resistance of the temperature sensor, and Mysa will calibrate its temperature readings accordingly. You can also adjust the floor sensor resistance value from the thermostat's setting page.
