Pairing Mysa with Google Home via Matter

This guide covers pairing your Mysa Smart Thermostat for Central HVAC to Google Home using Matter, what you can do once it is paired, Google Assistant voice commands, and Google Home–specific limitations. Before You Start
Your thermostat, the phone running the Mysa app, and your Google hub must all be on the same Wi-Fi network. If any of these are on a different or guest network, pairing may fail or the thermostat may appear unresponsive.
Mysa Smart Thermostat for Central HVAC with firmware 4.5.37 or later, online in the Mysa app.
Mysa app (iOS or Android) 4.11 or later, signed in.
The Google Home app on an Android phone or iPhone.
A Matter-compatible Google hub — Nest Hub (2nd gen), Nest Hub Max, Nest Mini, Nest Wifi Pro, or another Matter-compatible Google device. Check the Google compatibility list if unsure.
Step 1 — Get Your Matter Pairing Code from the Mysa App
These steps are the same regardless of which platform you are pairing to.
Open the Mysa app and tap the menu icon (top left).
Under Other, tap Home Assistants.
Tap Mysa for Central HVAC, then select your device.
On the Connect using Matter screen, tap the Pairing Code field to copy the code, or keep the QR code visible to scan from another device.
Note: Each pairing code can only be used once per platform. If you are adding the thermostat to a second platform, do not return to the Mysa app for a new code — instead, generate a sharing code from the platform you already paired to (see Using Matter with Multiple Smart Home Platforms). The same pairing code can, however, be used multiple times with the same platform if re-pairing is required.
Step 2 — Add the Thermostat in Google Home
Open the Google Home app and tap the + button (top right).
Tap Device.
If prompted, select your home and tap Next.
On the Add a device screen, tap + Add a different way. Alternatively, if you are using a different device, scan the QR code displayed in the Mysa app.
In the search field at the top, search for "Matter Mysa" or "Mysa for Central HVAC," or select from the list of nearby devices displayed on the screen.
On the Mysa Smart Thermostat for Central HVAC screen, tap Use Pairing Code.
Paste the pairing code copied from the Mysa app into the Pairing Code field and tap Continue.
Follow the Google Home pairing flow and, if prompted, assign the thermostat to a room and give it a name. Google Home may initially call it Mysa Smart Thermostat or Matter Device without prompting for a name.
Tap Done. Two tiles appear in your room: one for the thermostat (temperature) and one for humidity.
Note: Two tiles are expected. Google Home separates the thermostat controls and the humidity sensor into individual tiles — this is how Google Home handles Matter thermostats, not a pairing error. Both tiles can be renamed independently. Removing the thermostat also removes the humidity tile.

Google Assistant Voice Commands
"Hey Google, set the [room] thermostat to 22 degrees."
"Hey Google, what is the temperature in the [room]?"
"Hey Google, turn on heating in the [room]."
"Hey Google, set the [room] thermostat to cool."
Auto Mode and Deadband
Auto mode lets your thermostat switch between heating and cooling based on your setpoints. In the Mysa app, enable Auto mode in Mysa settings before using it, then set heat to and cool to targets and a deadband between 2°C and 6°C (default 2°C).
You can enable Auto mode directly from Google Home without enabling it in the Mysa app first. When enabled via Matter, a default 2°C deadband applies.
Deadband control is not available in Google Home — change the deadband only in the Mysa app. Google Home will honour the deadband set in the Mysa app.
In cool mode, if you try to set the cool setpoint less than the heat setpoint plus the deadband, Google Home will reject the change or adjust the other setpoint automatically. This is expected deadband behaviour.
Google Home Limitations
These come from the Matter standard and Google's implementation, not from a defect in your thermostat.
Humidity Appears as a Separate Tile
Google Home separates the thermostat controls and the humidity sensor into individual tiles. Both tiles belong to the same physical thermostat and can be renamed independently. Removing the thermostat also removes the humidity tile.
AUX Heat Shows as Heat
When auxiliary heat mode is active, Google Home displays the mode as Heat. This is a display difference only.
Tiles May Lag After a Change
Google Home tiles can take a few seconds to reflect changes made in the Mysa app or from another platform. Close and reopen the tile to force a refresh.
May Show Unresponsive Before Mysa App Shows Offline
After a Wi-Fi drop, Google Home may flag the thermostat as unresponsive before the Mysa app shows it offline. This is normal.
Temperature Range Is Narrower Than the Mysa App
Matter platforms support a heat setpoint range of 7°C – 30°C and a cool setpoint of 16°C – 30°C, compared to 5°C – 30°C and 16°C – 37°C in the Mysa app. Values outside the Matter range set in the Mysa app should display correctly on the Matter platform app but cannot be adjusted back to those values from the Matter platform without error.
Re-Pairing After a Reset
Remove both the thermostat tile and the humidity tile from Google Home before re-pairing. Then generate a new code in the Mysa app and add the device again.
