Matter is an open smart home connectivity standard that lets you add and control your Mysa thermostat directly from Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, or any other smart home platform that supports Matter. Once paired, you can control temperature, change modes, and use voice commands while keeping your settings in sync with the Mysa app.
Before You Start
General Requirement
Your thermostat, the phone running the Mysa app, and your Matter hub must all be on the same Wi-Fi network for Matter to work correctly. If any of these are on a different network or a guest network, pairing may fail or the thermostat may appear unresponsive in your smart home app.
What You Need
Mysa app (iOS or Android) v4.18 or later, signed in to your account
Your thermostat online and connected in the Mysa app before pairing
A supported smart home platform — see platform-specific requirements below:
Platform | Phone / OS | Hub required |
|---|---|---|
Apple Home | iPhone or iPad — iOS / iPadOS 16.2 or later | HomePod, HomePod mini, or Apple TV 4K. On iOS 18+ you can pair and locally control without a hub, but automations and remote access still require one. iPad is no longer supported as a Home Hub. |
Google Home | Android or iPhone with the Google Home app | Nest Hub (2nd gen), Nest Hub Max, Nest Mini, Nest Wifi Pro, or another Matter‑compatible Google device. Check Google compatibility list if unsure. |
Amazon Alexa | iPhone or Android with the Alexa app | Most current Echo speakers, Echo Show displays, and eero routers support Matter. Older Echo (1st/2nd gen) and Echo Dot (3rd gen and earlier) do not. Check Amazon compatibility list if unsure. |
Choose Your Platform
Follow the step‑by‑step guide for the platform you are pairing to:

Troubleshooting
Device not appearing in Home Assistants
If your Mysa thermostat doesn't appear in the Home Assistants section even though it's connected in the Mysa app:
Force close the Mysa app completely (on iOS, swipe up from the bottom of the screen to open the App Switcher, then swipe up on the Mysa app to close it) and reopen it.
If the device still doesn't appear after force closing, there may be a cache or timing delay. Wait a few hours or up to several days, periodically checking the Home Assistants section.
Good to Know (All Platforms)
These limitations come from the Matter standard and individual platform implementations, not from a defect in your thermostat. Platform‑specific notes live in each platform guide above.
Settings Sync
Mysa app settings take priority. Changes sync in both directions between the Mysa app and all paired platforms.
Re-Pairing Disconnects Matter Integrations
If you re-pair the thermostat in the Mysa app, all Matter platform connections are lost. For a fresh re-pair, remove the device from every Matter platform first, then re-pair in the Mysa app, then pair each platform again using a new code. You will need to recreate automations if re-pairing your Mysa.
