Compatibility Quick Check — Mysa for Mini-Splits

Last updated: August 27, 2026

Use this quick check before buying Mysa for Mini-Splits. The most important details are the type of handheld remote your system uses and where you can place Mysa.

You are likely compatible if

  • Your system is a ductless mini-split heat pump, window air conditioner, or portable AC

  • It is controlled by an infrared (IR) handheld remote

  • The remote has a display that shows the complete state: target temperature, operating mode, and fan speed

  • You can place Mysa where it has a clear path to the indoor unit's IR receiver

  • A standard power outlet and 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi reach the planned location

  • You still have the original remote for setup

You are likely incompatible if

  • The system only uses a wired wall controller

  • The remote uses radio frequency (RF), Bluetooth, or another non-IR control method

  • The remote has no screen, or only shows temperature rather than the complete state

  • Walls, furniture, curtains, or another obstruction block the path between Mysa and the indoor unit

Feature check

Mysa supports Heat, Cool, Dry, and Fan-only modes, plus fan speeds, swing, and vane positions where the original unit supports them. Features such as freeze protection, Follow Me/remote sensing, and changing the head-unit display are not supported.

For the complete remote and feature test, see the Mysa for Mini-Splits Compatibility Guide.
