Mini-Split Not Responding to Commands

If your mini-split does not respond when you change its temperature, mode, or fan setting in the Mysa app, first check that Mysa can reach the indoor unit and that both devices are in sync.

Check power and connection

  • Confirm Mysa is powered and its display is on.

  • Open the Mysa app and confirm the controller shows online. If it is offline, see Reconnect After Wi-Fi Disconnection.

  • Confirm the mini-split itself has power and still responds to its original remote.

Check the infrared path

  • Remove objects blocking the path between Mysa and the indoor unit’s infrared receiver.

  • Temporarily move Mysa closer to the indoor unit.

  • Keep the front of Mysa clean so it can send infrared commands clearly.

Re-sync Mysa after using the original remote

Mysa tracks the mini-split’s state from the commands it sends. If you use the original remote, Mysa does not receive that change and its displayed state can become different from the indoor unit.

  1. Turn the mini-split off using Mysa or the Mysa app.

  2. Wait 10 seconds.

  3. Turn it back on using Mysa.

  4. Test temperature, mode, and fan commands again.

After pairing, use Mysa or the app for normal control whenever possible. If you use the original remote, repeat the steps above to bring them back into sync.

Re-learn the remote codes

  1. Open the Mysa app and select the controller.

  2. Open Settings.

  3. Choose the option to re-learn or change the remote codes.

  4. Follow the prompts using the original infrared remote.

If the unit beeps or changes temperature unexpectedly

Each beep usually means Mysa sent an infrared command. Climate+ can send extra commands to maintain the room temperature. See Mini-Split Temperature Changing on Its Own for details and steps to disable Climate+.
