DIY vs Professional Installation
Last updated: August 27, 2026
Mysa for Mini-Splits does not connect to thermostat wiring. Most people can install it themselves.
When DIY is the right path
You can plug the included adapter into a standard wall outlet
You can place Mysa on a table or attach the included wall mount
You have the original infrared remote for pairing
You can install the Mysa app and join 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi
Typical setup is plugging in, pairing in the app, matching the remote, then mounting or placing Mysa.
When to get help
There is no outlet near a location with a clear infrared path to the indoor unit
You need a new outlet installed — that is electrician work, not Mysa wiring
The remote does not pass the compatibility check
Pairing or remote matching fails after following the in-app steps
Do not hire an electrician to wire Mysa into the mini-split. It is not a line-voltage thermostat.
