Outage Behavior: What Happens to Your Schedule

Last updated: July 29, 2026

What happens to your schedule and thermostat settings during a power outage, internet outage, or both.

Power Outage

Mysa automatically reconnects and resumes all your settings once power is restored, thanks to its ability to reset its internal clock. You don't need to do anything — no need to re-pair or reconfigure your schedule.

Internet Outage (Power Still On)

The thermostat continues following the last programmed event it received. However:

  • Remote control via the app is unavailable until your internet connection is re-established

  • Mysa will maintain the last set temperature until you're able to manually adjust it at the thermostat, or until connectivity returns

Both Power and Internet Lost

Mysa attempts to reconnect once power returns. In the meantime, it keeps the temperature setting from before the outage until connectivity is restored.

Why This Matters for Scheduling

If your schedule seems to have "skipped" an event or held an old temperature, check whether a power or internet outage occurred around that time — this is expected behavior, not a malfunction. See Scheduling Issues for other reasons a schedule might not be followed as expected.

Manual Override During an Outage

You can always manually adjust the setpoint temperature directly at the thermostat's faceplate, even without internet. This temporarily overrides the scheduled setting until the next programmed event (once connectivity returns) or until you adjust it again.

Still Having Issues After Power/Internet Is Restored?

If your thermostat isn't reconnecting on its own after power and internet are both back, see Reconnect After Wi-Fi Disconnection.
