App & Connectivity Requirements

Last updated: October 5, 2026

What you need on the connectivity side before buying Mysa for Baseboards. This covers Mysa Baseboard 3, V2, and Lite.

Wi-Fi

  • A 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network is required for Baseboard 3, V2, and Lite.

  • 5 GHz alone will not work. If your router uses one name for both bands, turn on a separate 2.4 GHz network name if setup cannot find your Wi-Fi.

  • No Mysa hub or bridge is required. The thermostat connects directly to your home Wi-Fi.

Phone and app

  • The Mysa app is available for iOS and Android.

  • iOS 15 or later, or Android 8 or later.

  • A free Mysa account is required for setup and remote control.

  • Bluetooth must be on for the phone during setup. Baseboard 3, V2, and Lite pair to the app over Bluetooth.

Smart home

Baseboard 3 connects to smart home platforms through Matter, after setup in the Mysa app is finished. It works with Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, SmartThings, and Home Assistant. Adding it to Apple Home, Google Home, or Alexa requires a Matter-compatible hub for that platform. Mysa does not use the older HomeKit, Google, or Alexa account-linking flow on Baseboard 3.

V2 and Lite use the native Apple Home, Google Home, and Amazon Alexa connections. They do not use Matter.

Common questions

Does it work without Wi-Fi? You can still change the temperature on the thermostat itself. Schedules, remote control, geofencing, and smart home control need Wi-Fi.

Does it work with 5 GHz Wi-Fi? No. Mysa needs 2.4 GHz.

Do I need a SmartThings hub or a Mysa bridge to get online? No. The thermostat joins your Wi-Fi directly. A Matter hub is only needed later, if you add Baseboard 3 to Apple Home, Google Home, or Alexa.
