Mysa for Baseboards Overview
Mysa for Baseboards is a smart thermostat designed for line-voltage electric heating systems. This article explains what systems it works with, what you need for installation, and how to get started.
Compatible Systems
Mysa for Baseboards controls 120V and 240V electric heating systems, including:
Electric baseboard heaters
Convection heaters
Fan-forced heaters and toe kick heaters
Radiant ceiling heaters
Electric wall heaters
Caution Mysa for Baseboards is not compatible with 24-volt (low-voltage) central HVAC systems. If your thermostat has thin wires labeled R, C, W, Y, G, or O/B, you need the Mysa Smart Thermostat instead.

What You Need Before Installing
You're ready for Mysa for Baseboards if you have:
An existing wall thermostat (not a dial on the heater itself)
An electric baseboard, convection, fan-forced, or radiant heater
120V or 240V wiring at your thermostat location
4 or more wires in your thermostat gang box (two bundles)
A heater within wattage limits: 3800W at 240V or 1900W at 120V (covers ~90% of homes)
A smartphone with the Mysa app (iOS or Android)
Note Only see 2 wires at your thermostat? This is extremely rare — check inside the gang box for extra capped wires tucked inside. Most setups have 4–6 wires. If you truly only have 2 wires, the location cannot power a smart thermostat.
Tools Required
You need a medium Phillips screwdriver. We also recommend having these on hand:
Small Phillips screwdriver
Wire strippers
Pliers
Voltage tester
Warning Mysa for Baseboards connects to high-voltage (120/240V) wiring. Always turn off power at the breaker before installation. If you're not comfortable working with electrical wiring, hire a licensed electrician.
