Reconnect Your Mysa for In-Floor Heating After WiFi Disconnection

If your Mysa for In-Floor Heating has gone offline, this guide walks you through the most common causes and how to reconnect to your WiFi network.

Why Your Mysa Disconnects

Your Mysa may lose its WiFi connection for several reasons:

• Router restart — Power outage or ISP issue temporarily dropped the connection
• WiFi password changed — Your Mysa still has the old password saved
• New router — You replaced your router or switched ISPs
• Network congestion — Too many devices on your 2.4GHz band
• Router settings changed — Band steering, MAC filtering, or network name changes
• Weak signal — Mysa is too far from your router or access point

Reconnect After a Router Restart

Most disconnections resolve automatically after a router restart:

1. Confirm your WiFi is working — Check that other devices can connect to your 2.4GHz network.
2. Power cycle your Mysa — Turn off the breaker for 30 seconds, then turn it back on.
3. Wait 2–3 minutes — Open the Mysa app and let the thermostat reconnect automatically.
4. Check if it reconnected — Press a button on the thermostat. If it shows the Bluetooth pairing symbol instead of the temperature, it lost its WiFi credentials and needs to be added again.

Note Mysa for In-Floor Heating only connects to 2.4GHz WiFi networks. If your router combines both bands under one name, you may need to temporarily disable 5GHz or create a separate 2.4GHz network.

When WiFi Credentials Are Lost

If your Mysa's WiFi credentials were accidentally reset or your WiFi password changed, you'll need to add the device again.

How to tell if credentials are lost:

• Press any button on the thermostat.
• If the Bluetooth pairing symbol appears instead of the temperature display, your Mysa has lost its WiFi credentials.

Reconnect to WiFi:

1. Open the Mysa app and tap Add Device.
2. Follow the in-app instructions to connect your Mysa to WiFi.
3. When prompted, put your Mysa into pairing mode:

• Press and hold both up and down arrows on the thermostat for 10 seconds.
• The Bluetooth symbol should appear on the display.

1. Select your 2.4GHz network and enter your WiFi password.
2. Complete the setup process.

Note If your Mysa was already connected to your account, it will automatically restore your original settings including schedules, configuration, and floor sensor calibration after reconnecting.

Tip If the Bluetooth symbol doesn't appear when you hold the buttons, try holding for a full 10 seconds without releasing early.

Connect to a New Router

When you install a new router, reconnect your Mysa to the new network:

1. Confirm your new router has a 2.4GHz network enabled.
2. Note your new network name (SSID) and password.
3. Follow the When WiFi Credentials Are Lost steps above to add your device to the new network.

Tip If your new router uses the same network name and password as your old router, your Mysa should reconnect automatically after a power cycle.

Fix Persistent Connection Issues

If your Mysa still won't connect after trying the steps above, check these common issues.

Router Settings to Check

Some router settings can prevent your Mysa from connecting:

• Band steering — Disable this feature or create a dedicated 2.4GHz network.
• MAC filtering — Add your Mysa's MAC address to the allowed list (find it in Device Settings → Device Info).
• Hidden network — Mysa can connect to hidden networks, but you'll need to enter the SSID manually during setup.
• Firewall and ports — Confirm your router or firewall is not blocking outgoing connections needed for the device.

Check Router Placement and Capacity

If your Mysa frequently disconnects:

• Distance from router — If your thermostat is far from your router or has walls/floors between them, consider moving your router to a more central location or adding a WiFi extender.
• Older routers — If you're using a router that's several years old and have added many smart home devices since installing it, your router may struggle to maintain stable connections with all devices.
• Network congestion — The 2.4GHz band has limited capacity. If you have many WiFi devices, consider upgrading to a modern router with better 2.4GHz performance.

Check GFCI Status

Note The Mysa for In-Floor Heating has a built-in GFCI for safety. If the GFCI trips, your thermostat will lose power and go offline. Check that the GFCI hasn't tripped if your Mysa suddenly goes offline.
