Installation
Setting up Mysa for Mini-Splits is simple: plug it in, teach it your remote, and mount it. The whole process takes about 10 minutes.
Step 1: Power On
- Plug the AC adapter into a wall outlet
- Connect the micro USB cable to Mysa
- The display lights up and shows a pairing symbol
Mysa requires constant USB power — it cannot run on batteries. If the included 6ft cable isn't long enough, any 5V micro USB cable will work.
Step 2: Connect & Learn Your Remote
Open the Mysa app and follow the prompts to:
- Add Mysa to your Wi-Fi network — 2.4 GHz required
- Identify your remote — Point your AC remote at Mysa and press a button (typically power). Mysa only needs one command to recognize your remote's signature.
- Match your unit — Mysa looks up the best compatible code set from its database
- Test the connection — Verify a few commands work correctly
- Download the full code set — Once confirmed, Mysa downloads all IR codes for your unit
Step 3: Mount or Place Mysa
You can wall-mount Mysa or set it on a table — whichever works best for your space.
Wall Mount
- Remove the adhesive backing from the included wall mount
- Make sure the arrow on the mount points UP
- Press the mount firmly against the wall for 30 seconds
- Slide Mysa onto the bracket
- Use the included velcro strap and clips to manage the cable
Tabletop
- Align the included stand's pins with the holes on the back of Mysa
- Push until secure (should not wobble)
- Place on a flat surface with line of sight to your AC unit
Where to Put It
Mysa uses infrared to control your unit, but it's more flexible than you might think. It sends IR commands in a 270° arc, and signals can bounce off walls — so it doesn't need to point directly at your AC unit.
General guidelines:
- Keep within 25-30 feet of the indoor unit
- Avoid placing behind furniture, plants, or curtains
- Keep at least 20 cm (8 inches) away from people
For accurate temperature readings:
- Place near where you typically sit
- Avoid direct sunlight
- Keep away from heat sources and air vents
Multiple Indoor Units
One Mysa can control multiple indoor heads if they're the same brand/model and within line of sight. For units in different rooms, you'll need one Mysa per room.
