Mini-Split Temperature Changing on Its Own
If you've noticed your mini-split's setpoint changing without you adjusting it, this is likely caused by Climate+, a feature designed to help maintain more accurate room temperatures. Climate+ is enabled by default when you first set up your Mysa for Mini-Splits. Here's what's happening and how to adjust it.
Why This Happens
Climate+ is an optional feature that automatically sends commands to your mini-split to compensate for temperature differences between where you placed Mysa and where your mini-split measures temperature.
The problem Climate+ solves:
- Mini-splits have internal thermostats that measure temperature at the unit — often mounted high on a wall near the ceiling
- This can differ significantly from the temperature where you actually sit
- Many mini-splits stop heating or cooling slightly before reaching the target temperature
- This often leaves rooms too warm or too cool
How Climate+ works:
- Monitors the actual room temperature using Mysa's sensor
- Compares this to your target temperature
- If there's a difference, sends additional commands to your mini-split
- Essentially acts as a smarter thermostat that measures temperature where it matters
How to Disable Climate+
If you prefer your mini-split to operate without Mysa adjusting the setpoint:
- Open the Mysa app
- Tap your thermostat
- Tap Settings (gear icon)
- Toggle Climate+ off
When to Keep Climate+ Enabled
Climate+ works well when:
- Your mini-split consistently stops before reaching the target temperature
- The mini-split's wall position causes inaccurate temperature readings
- You want tighter temperature control in the room
When to Disable Climate+
Consider turning Climate+ off if:
- You hear frequent beeping (each beep is Mysa sending a command)
- Your unit already maintains accurate temperatures on its own
- You prefer the mini-split's native control behavior
- The automatic setpoint changes are disruptive
What to Expect with Climate+ Off
With Climate+ disabled, Mysa will send commands only when you manually adjust the temperature. Your mini-split will rely on its own internal thermostat, which may result in slightly less precise room temperatures depending on your unit's placement.
