Managing Your Mysa App Account
Your Mysa app account lets you control your thermostats, set up schedules, and manage your heating system. This account only exists in the Mysa app and cannot be managed on the website.
> Important App account changes can ONLY be made inside the Mysa app. You cannot manage your app account at account.getmysa.com.
Creating a New App Account
Follow these steps to create your Mysa app account:
1. Download the Mysa app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android)
2. Open the app and tap Create an account
3. Enter your email address
4. Create a strong password
5. Tap Create account to confirm
6. You'll receive a confirmation email — check your inbox and verify your email address
7. Return to the app and you're ready to add your thermostats
> Tip Use an email you check regularly. You'll need it if you forget your password.
Signing Into Your App Account
To sign into the Mysa app:
1. Open the Mysa app
2. Tap Sign in
3. Enter your email address and password
4. Tap Sign in
5. You'll see your thermostats and can start controlling them
If you're signing in on a new device:
- You'll need to re-enter your email and password
- You'll see all thermostats linked to this app account
- You won't need to re-add your thermostats
Changing Your Password
Your app password can ONLY be changed inside the Mysa app. Here's how:
1. Open the Mysa app
2. Tap the Menu icon (three horizontal lines, usually at the top left or bottom right depending on your version)
3. Tap Account
4. Tap Change password
5. Enter your current password
6. Enter your new password twice to confirm
7. Tap Update password
> Note You cannot change your app password on the website. If you need to change it, you must use the Mysa app.
Forgot your password?
- Open the Mysa app
- On the sign-in screen, tap Forgot password?
- Enter your email address
- Check your email for a password reset link
- Follow the link to create a new password
Updating Your Profile Information
You can update your name in the app:
1. Open the Mysa app
2. Tap Menu (three horizontal lines)
3. Tap Account
4. Tap Profile
5. Edit your name
6. Tap Save
> Note You cannot change your account email address. If you need a different email, create a new account and re-pair your thermostats.
Deleting Your App Account
If you want to delete your Mysa app account completely:
1. Open the Mysa app
2. Tap Menu (three horizontal lines)
3. Tap Account
4. Scroll to the bottom
5. Tap Delete account
6. Read the warning message carefully
7. Tap Confirm to permanently delete your account
> Warning Deleting your account will:
> - Remove all thermostats from your account
> - Delete your profile and settings
> - Sign you out of the app
> - This action cannot be undone
After you delete your account:
- The thermostats will still work physically, but won't respond to the app
- You can create a new account and re-add your thermostats anytime
- Any other users with access to these thermostats will also lose access
Data Privacy
Exporting Your Data
Data export is not currently available in the Mysa app.
Requesting Data Deletion
If you want all your data permanently deleted (beyond just deleting your account), you can submit a "right to be forgotten" request:
Email: security@getmysa.com
Include your account email address and request that your data be deleted.
Account Security
Keep Your Password Safe
- Never share your password with anyone
- Use a unique password that you don't use elsewhere
- Change your password periodically for security
Sharing Access to Your Thermostats
To let family members or roommates control your thermostats:
1. Open the Mysa app
2. Tap Menu
3. Look for Invite user, Manage access, or Share thermostat
4. Enter their email address
5. Send the invitation
6. They can accept the invitation in their app
> Note Sharing lets others view and control your thermostats but not access or delete your account.
Troubleshooting
My app won't let me sign in:
- Check that Wi-Fi or mobile data is connected
- Verify your email and password are correct
- Try signing out completely, close the app, and sign back in
- Update to the latest version of the Mysa app
I see "Invalid email or password":
- Make sure your email is spelled correctly
- Check that Caps Lock is not on
- Reset your password using "Forgot password?"
I added a thermostat but it's not showing in my account:
- Verify the thermostat finished pairing successfully
- Make sure Wi-Fi is working at the thermostat location
- Restart your phone and the Mysa app
- If the thermostat is still not showing, contact support
The app asks me to sign in every time I open it:
- Try signing out and signing back in
- Check your device's app cache settings
- Update to the latest version of the Mysa app
- Restart your phone
