Power & Placement Requirements — Mysa for Mini-Splits

Last updated: August 27, 2026

Mysa for Mini-Splits does not connect to thermostat wiring. It needs constant outlet power and a clear infrared path to the indoor unit.

Power

  • Use the included power adapter and cable with a standard wall outlet

  • Mysa must remain plugged in; it does not run on batteries

  • Plan a location where the cable reaches without being stretched or creating a trip hazard

Infrared line of sight

Mysa replaces the original remote by sending infrared commands. Place it where its signal can reach the indoor unit's IR receiver.

  • Do not hide Mysa behind furniture, plants, or curtains

  • Do not place it in another room or around a corner from the indoor unit

  • A tabletop or wall-mounted position can work

Accurate room readings

For better temperature sensing, place Mysa near the occupied area and away from direct sunlight, drafts, air vents, and other heat sources.

One indoor head per Mysa

Plan on one Mysa for each indoor head or room you want to control. Each indoor head acts as its own zone.
