Mysa for Mini-Splits works with most ductless mini-split heat pumps, window air conditioners, and portable AC units.

The key requirement is your remote type.

The Remote Test

Your unit is compatible if your handheld remote has:

Full-state LCD display showing:

  • Target temperature

  • Current mode (Heat/Cool/Dry/Fan/Auto)

  • Fan speed

Not compatible:

  • Temperature-only LCD displays

  • Button-only remotes (no screen)

  • Units without IR remotes (wired controls only)

Why the LCD Screen Matters

Full-state remotes send all settings (temperature, mode, fan speed, swing, vane) in a single IR command. Mysa replicates this behavior — each command includes the complete state, so Mysa always knows exactly what it sent to your unit.

Simpler remotes only send incremental commands like "temp up" or "change mode." Mysa can't use these because there's no way to know the unit's starting state — IR is one-way with no feedback from the unit.

Line of Sight Requirement

Mysa controls your unit via infrared. Before purchasing, confirm you have a location where:

  • Mysa can "see" the indoor unit

  • No walls, furniture, or obstacles block the path

  • Distance is within 25-30 feet

Tip: Mysa doesn't need to point directly at your unit. It sends IR commands in a 270° arc, and IR signals can bounce off walls. Depending on your room size and layout, you may have more placement flexibility than you'd expect.

Wi-Fi Requirements

  • 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network

  • Works with combined 2.4/5 GHz networks

  • Works with mesh Wi-Fi systems

  • Minimum 4 Mbps recommended
