Shared App Access

Shared Access lets you give others control over your Mysa Smart Thermostats—family members, roommates, or tenants can adjust temperatures from their own phones without needing your login credentials.

Only the primary user (the Home owner) can manage Home settings, invite or remove users, pair devices, and configure geofencing. Shared users can adjust temperatures and use existing schedules, but several management actions are limited or unavailable today.

Note: Sharing is all-or-nothing per Home—you cannot share access to individual thermostats. All devices in the Home are visible to every shared user. This applies to all Homes on app version 4 and later.

How to Add a Shared User

Primary user only.

  1. Open the Mysa app and tap the menu icon

  2. Tap Manage Mysa Homes

  3. Select the Home you want to share

  4. Tap Share Access

  5. Tap Add User

  6. Enter the person's name and email address

  7. Tap Next to send the invitation

The invitee will receive an email with instructions. If they don't have a Mysa account, the email includes a temporary password to create one. Existing Mysa users also get a notification in their app.

How to Remove a Shared User

Primary user only.

  1. Open the Mysa app and tap the menu icon

  2. Tap Manage Mysa Homes

  3. Select the Home

  4. Tap Share Access

  5. Tap the user you want to remove

  6. Tap Remove User

Note: Shared users cannot remove themselves or other users. If you are a shared user who wants to leave, ask the primary user to remove you.

Troubleshooting

Save Schedule does nothing? Shared users cannot create or save new schedules. Ask the primary user to create or update the schedule, then you can apply it.

Can't rename or delete a schedule? Only the primary user can rename or delete saved schedules.

Invitation not working? Only the primary user can send invitations. If you are the primary user, delete the invitation and send a new one. If you are a shared user, ask the primary user to send the invite.

Can't invite or remove users? Home sharing management is limited to the primary user. Shared users will see these options fail silently or show an error.

Can't edit Home settings? Name, e-rate, and address changes must be made by the primary user.

Thermostat not showing in your app? Make sure the primary user has shared the Home with you.

Paired a thermostat but it disappeared? Shared users cannot pair devices. If a device was paired under the primary account, they need to confirm the Home is still shared with you.

Thermostat used to show but now it's gone? Check if the primary user removed it from their account, removed your access, or moved it to a different Home.
