Can Mysa Smart Thermostat work with an RV, mobile home, or rooftop air conditioner?

Last updated: July 6, 2026

Mysa Smart Thermostat is designed for standard 24 V heating and cooling systems, such as furnaces, central air conditioners, heat pumps, boilers, PTAC units, and compatible fan-coil systems.

It is not compatible with many RV, mobile-home, or rooftop air-conditioning systems when those systems use DC power, a proprietary controller, or a non-standard thermostat interface.

What to check

  • Voltage: Mysa Smart Thermostat requires a standard 24 V thermostat system. If the existing thermostat or rooftop A/C uses DC power, do not install Mysa.

  • Control type: If the system uses a proprietary thermostat, communicating controller, or manufacturer-specific control board, it is not compatible with Mysa Smart Thermostat.

  • Wiring: Standard low-voltage terminals such as R/Rc, C, Y, W, and G are a good sign, but compatibility should still be confirmed before installation.

If you are unsure

Use the Mysa Compatibility Checker or have a qualified HVAC professional verify the wiring and control type before installing. Do not connect Mysa Smart Thermostat to a DC-powered, line-voltage, or proprietary system.

If the system is not compatible, continue using the original thermostat or a controller recommended by the rooftop A/C or mobile-home HVAC manufacturer.
