Pairing Your Mysa for Mini-Splits

After mounting and powering on your Mysa for Mini-Splits, pair it with the Mysa app to start controlling your mini-split system from your phone.

What You'll Need

  • The Mysa app installed on your phone (iOS or Android)
  • A Mysa account (create one in the app if you haven't already)
  • Your home Wi-Fi network name and password
  • Bluetooth enabled on your phone
  • Your phone connected to your Wi-Fi network

Before You Begin

  • Make sure your Mysa for Mini-Splits is installed, plugged in, and powered on.
  • Stand within a few feet of the device during pairing.
  • Ensure Bluetooth is turned on in your phone's settings.
  • Confirm your Wi-Fi network is a 2.4 GHz network. Mysa does not support 5 GHz–only networks.
  • Have your mini-split's remote control nearby — you may need it during setup to confirm IR signal compatibility.

Tip Mysa for Mini-Splits uses infrared (IR) to communicate with your mini-split, window AC, or portable AC — just like the original remote control. Keep the remote handy in case the app asks you to verify IR signals during pairing.

Pairing Steps

  1. Open the Mysa app and sign in.
  2. Tap the + button to add a new device.
  3. Select Mysa for Mini-Splits from the product list.
  4. The app will search for nearby Mysa devices via Bluetooth. Make sure you are standing close to the device.
  5. Select your Mysa for Mini-Splits when it appears in the list.
  6. Choose your Wi-Fi network and enter the password.
  7. Wait for the device to connect. This may take up to 60 seconds.
  8. Follow the on-screen prompts to select your mini-split brand and test the IR signal.
  9. Name your device and assign it to a room.

Your Mysa for Mini-Splits is now paired and ready to use.

Putting Your Mysa Into Pairing Mode

If your device doesn't appear during the Bluetooth scan, you may need to manually enter pairing mode:

  1. Press and hold the reset button on the back or side of the Mysa for Mini-Splits for about 5 seconds.
  2. The LED indicator will begin flashing, confirming pairing mode is active.
  3. Return to the app and retry the pairing process.

Tips for a Successful Pairing

  • Stay close — Keep your phone within a few feet of the Mysa device during pairing.
  • Use 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi — Mysa devices connect to 2.4 GHz networks only. If your router broadcasts a combined 2.4/5 GHz network, the device will connect to the 2.4 GHz band automatically.
  • Check your Wi-Fi password — A mistyped password is the most common reason pairing fails.
  • Restart if needed — If pairing fails, unplug the Mysa for Mini-Splits for 10 seconds, plug it back in, and try again.

Network Diagnostics Tool

If you're experiencing connectivity issues during or after pairing, Mysa offers a built-in Network Diagnostics tool directly in the app. This tool can help identify Wi-Fi signal strength problems, network configuration issues, and other connectivity concerns.

To launch the Network Diagnostics tool:

  1. Open the Mysa app.
  2. Tap the Support button in the top-right corner of the screen.
  3. Select the Network Diagnostics option.
  4. Follow the on-screen prompts to run a diagnostic check.

The tool will analyze your network environment and provide recommendations to improve your connection. This is especially helpful if your device is having trouble staying connected or if pairing repeatedly fails.
