Quick Reference
| Symptom | Start Here |
|---|---|

| Thermostat on, HVAC not responding | HVAC Not Responding |
| Can't pair with app | Pairing Issues |
| Heating/cooling reversed | Configuration Mismatch |
| C-Wire Adapter issues | C-Wire Adapter |

No Power / Blank Display
Check the Basics
- Breaker: Confirm the HVAC breaker is ON
- Blower door: Close the furnace access panel — most systems have a safety interlock
- Fuse: Check the 3–5A fuse on the furnace control board; replace if blown
Check the Rh/Rc Switch
On the back of the thermostat:
- Single R-wire: Switch in CLOSED position (right) — this is the default
- Dual R-wires (Rh + Rc): Switch in OPEN position (left)
Verify C-Wire Connection
Mysa requires continuous power via a C-wire. Use a multimeter to confirm 24V AC between R and C at the thermostat terminals.
If no C-wire is available, verify the Mysa Power C-Wire Adapter is properly installed.
Tip If the fuse keeps blowing, there may be a short circuit. Recheck all connections or contact a professional.

HVAC Not Responding
Thermostat powers on but heating, cooling, or fan doesn't work.
Check Configuration Code
The most common cause is a missing or incorrect configuration code.
- Open the Mysa app
- Go to Device Settings → Thermostat Configuration
- Verify the code matches your system
Use mysacodefinder.com if you need to look up the correct code.
Heat Pump Mode Reversed?
If heating and cooling are swapped, the reversing valve setting is likely wrong. Try changing the last character of your config code (e.g., 31P ↔ 31L or 86M ↔ 86I).
Check Wiring
- Gently tug each wire to ensure it's secure
- Verify terminal labels match your wiring photo
- At the furnace control board, confirm wires are connected to the correct terminals
---
Pairing Issues
Thermostat not appearing in the Mysa app during Bluetooth setup.
Checklist
- Thermostat display is on
- Phone Bluetooth is enabled
- Phone is within 1–2 meters of the thermostat
- Mysa app is up to date
Re-enter Pairing Mode
Hold the up and down arrows together until the thermostat reboots. The Pairing Mode icon (Bluetooth symbol) should appear.
Still Not Working?
- Toggle Bluetooth off and back on
- Close and reopen the Mysa app
- Power cycle the thermostat (breaker off for 10 seconds)
---
Configuration Mismatch
System behaves incorrectly — wrong mode activates, or nothing happens.
- Verify config code in the app matches your system type
- For heat pumps, check reversing valve setting (O vs B)
- Compare current wiring to your original photo
- Confirm O/B wire is in the correct terminal
---
C-Wire Adapter Issues
Check the LED
The adapter has a green LED that indicates power. If it's not lit:
- Verify the furnace breaker is on
- Check all connections are secure
Verify Connections
From the adapter:
- Red → R terminal
- Blue → C terminal
- White → W (or W/Y/OB depending on system)
Placement
Install the adapter close to the furnace control board (within 12 inches). Keep it away from high-voltage lines.
