Removing Your Thermostat
Whether you're replacing your in-floor heating system, moving to a new home, or upgrading your setup, follow these steps to safely remove your Mysa thermostat.
Safety First: Turn Off the Breaker
Warning: Before removing your thermostat, you must turn off the circuit breaker that controls your in-floor heating system. Failure to do so creates a serious risk of electrical shock or injury. Do not proceed without de-energizing the circuit.
Steps
- Locate your electrical panel
- Find the breaker labeled "In-Floor Heating" or similar
- Switch it to the OFF position
- Verify the breaker is fully off by checking that it no longer protrudes
Your in-floor heating system is now safely de-energized.
Remove the Thermostat From Your App
Before physically disconnecting the thermostat, remove it from the Mysa app. This ensures your account is clean and ready for future use.
Steps to Remove in the App
- Open the Mysa app
- Go to Devices or Settings
- Select your in-floor heating thermostat
- Look for Remove Device, Delete Thermostat, or Unpair Device
- Confirm the removal
- The thermostat is now disconnected from your Mysa account
Your app will no longer attempt to connect to this thermostat.
Physical Removal
With the breaker off and the thermostat removed from your app, you can safely uninstall the device from your wall.
Steps to Remove Physically
- Open the thermostat faceplate or front cover (some models simply peel off; others require gentle prying)
- Inside, you'll see the wiring connected to the thermostat terminals:
- Power wires (Line, Load, and Neutral)
- Sensor wires (if you installed a floor sensor)
- Carefully disconnect each wire, noting which terminal it came from (take photos for reference if needed)
- Unscrew and remove the thermostat base from the wall mount or junction box
- Remove any mounting hardware or screws
The thermostat is now fully removed from your installation.
Tip: Keep a photo of your wiring configuration before disconnecting. You may need it if reinstalling in the future or for troubleshooting.
Factory Reset for New Owner Transfer
If you're transferring your Mysa thermostat to a new owner, perform a factory reset to clear all app pairing data and restore the device to its original state.
How to Factory Reset
- Ensure the breaker is OFF
- Locate the reset button on the thermostat (position varies by model—check the back or side)
- Press and hold the reset button for 10-15 seconds
- Release the button
- The thermostat display may flash or reset
Your thermostat is now factory reset and ready for the new owner to pair with their Mysa account.
Note: Factory reset clears all app data but does not erase any schedules or settings stored in the thermostat itself. The new owner will pair it fresh with their own Mysa app account.
