Geofencing

Geofencing uses your phone's location to automatically adjust your mini-split when you leave or arrive home. Save energy when you're away, and come home to a comfortable temperature.

How Geofencing Works

1. You define a geographic boundary around your home
2. When your phone leaves that boundary, Mysa sets your devices to "Away" temperatures
3. When your phone enters the boundary, Mysa returns to your preferred "Home" temperatures

Setting Up Geofencing

1. Open the Mysa app
2. Tap the menu icon
3. Tap Geofencing
4. Enable Geofencing
5. Set your home location (the app will suggest your current location)
6. Adjust the boundary radius if needed
7. Set your Away temperatures
8. Set your Home temperatures

Geofencing Settings

Away Temperature — The setback temperature when everyone leaves. A few degrees warmer (summer) or cooler (winter) than normal saves energy.

Home Temperature — What to set when someone arrives. This returns your home to comfortable temperatures.

Boundary Radius — How far from home before triggering "Away." Larger radius = earlier trigger, giving more time to pre-condition.

Multiple Household Members

Geofencing tracks all household members who have the Mysa app installed and location permissions enabled.

• Away mode activates when the last person leaves
• Home mode activates when the first person arrives

This prevents the system from setting back when some family members are still home.

Adding household members:

1. Go to Settings > Shared Access
2. Invite others to your home
3. They install the app and accept the invitation
4. They enable location permissions

Geofencing + Schedules

Geofencing and schedules work together:

• If your schedule says 21°C but everyone left, geofencing overrides to the Away temperature
• When you arrive home, geofencing returns to the Home temperature (or your scheduled temperature, whichever applies)

Think of geofencing as a smart override — it adjusts for unexpected departures and arrivals that your schedule can't predict.

Troubleshooting Geofencing

Not triggering when leaving:

• Check that location permissions are set to "Always" (not "While Using")
• Increase the boundary radius
• Ensure battery optimization isn't restricting the Mysa app

Triggering too early/late:

• Adjust the boundary radius
• Larger radius = triggers earlier when leaving, later when arriving

Only working for one person:

• All household members need the app installed
• Everyone needs location permissions enabled
• Everyone must be added to the home via Shared Access

Privacy

• Location data stays on your phone and Mysa's servers
• Mysa only checks if you're inside or outside the boundary — it doesn't track your specific location
• You can disable geofencing anytime
