Apple HomeKit Setup — Mysa for In-Floor Heating
Add your Mysa for In-Floor Heating to Apple HomeKit to control your floor heating with Siri voice commands and automate temperature changes throughout your home.
Requirements
To use Mysa for In-Floor with Apple HomeKit, you'll need:
- iOS or iPadOS device — iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch running iOS 14.3 or later
- Home app — Apple's built-in home automation app on your device
- 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network — Your thermostat must be connected to your home Wi-Fi (HomeKit uses this connection)
- HomeKit-enabled device — Optional hub device (HomePod, Apple TV, or iPad) for remote access and automation
- Mysa account — Required for Options 1 and 2 only. Not needed for HomeKit Only setup.
Tip: A HomeKit hub lets you control and automate your thermostat even when you're away from home. Without a hub, you can only control it when you're on the same Wi-Fi network.

Note: With HomeKit Only, you won't have access to Mysa app features like schedules, usage history, or advanced temperature modes.
What You Can Control via HomeKit
Once added to HomeKit, you can:
- Set target temperature — Ask Siri to raise, lower, or set a specific temperature
- Monitor current temperature — View the current floor or ambient temperature from HomeKit
- Include in scenes — Add your thermostat to HomeKit scenes (e.g., "Good Night" scene turns off heating)
- Create automations — Set temperature changes based on time, location, or other triggers
- Use with other HomeKit devices — Combine heating control with lights, locks, and other accessories
- Access remotely — Control your thermostat from anywhere with a HomeKit hub
Important: HomeKit shows temperature control only. You cannot switch between Ambient and Floor temperature modes via HomeKit — use the Mysa app for mode changes.
Siri Voice Commands
Once your thermostat is in HomeKit, you can control it with Siri. Common commands include:
| Command | What happens |
|---|---|
| --- | --- |
| "Hey Siri, set the bathroom floor to 25 degrees" | Sets the bathroom thermostat to 25°C |
| "Hey Siri, make the bedroom warmer" | Increases bedroom temperature |
| "Hey Siri, turn off the kitchen floor heating" | Sets kitchen thermostat to off |
| "Hey Siri, what's the bathroom temperature?" | Reports current floor temperature |
| "Hey Siri, increase the hallway heating" | Raises hallway thermostat setpoint |
Note: Siri responds to the room name you assigned during HomeKit setup. Make sure your thermostat is assigned to the correct room for accurate voice commands.
Troubleshooting Connection Issues
Thermostat doesn't appear in HomeKit
- Verify your Mysa is connected to your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network (check the Mysa app or thermostat display)
- Restart the Home app and try adding the accessory again
- Ensure your iOS device is on the same Wi-Fi network as the thermostat
- Check that your thermostat is properly paired (via Mysa app or HomeKit setup)
HomeKit can't control the thermostat
- Confirm your HomeKit hub is online (check Home app settings)
- Restart your HomeKit hub (unplug for 30 seconds, plug back in)
- Remove the thermostat from HomeKit and add it again
- Check that your Mysa app is fully updated from the App Store (if using Options 1 or 2)
Siri commands aren't working
- Make sure you're using the correct room name assigned in HomeKit
- Check that HomeKit has the latest data by opening the Home app
- Verify the thermostat is responding in the Home app (not offline)
- Try rephrasing the command (e.g., "set the floor to 25" instead of "set the floor heating to 25")
Automation isn't triggering
- Verify your HomeKit hub is online and up to date
- Check that conditions in the automation are correct (room, temperature, time)
- Make sure the thermostat is assigned to the correct room
- Test the thermostat manually from the Home app to confirm it's responsive
