Account Sharing and User Management
Share your Mysa thermostats with family members or housemates so everyone can control the heating.
Account Types
Primary User
The primary user is the person who set up the Mysa account and paired the thermostats. The primary user can:
- Add and remove thermostats
- Invite and remove shared users
- Access all settings and features
- Delete the account
Shared User
Shared users are invited by the primary user. Shared users can:
- View and control thermostats
- Adjust temperature and schedules
- Use shortcuts and geofencing
Shared users cannot:
- Add or remove thermostats
- Invite other users
- Access certain account settings
Inviting a Shared User
- Open the Mysa app
- Go to Account > Sharing
- Tap Invite User
- Enter their email address
- Tap Send Invite
The invited person will receive an email with instructions to create a Mysa account (if they don't have one) and accept the invitation.
Accepting an Invitation
- Check your email for the invitation
- Tap the link or open the Mysa app
- Create a Mysa account if you don't have one
- Accept the invitation
You'll now see the shared thermostats in your app.
Removing a Shared User
- Open the Mysa app (as primary user)
- Go to Account > Sharing
- Find the user you want to remove
- Tap Remove
The user will immediately lose access to all thermostats.
Removing Yourself as a Shared User
- Open the Mysa app
- Go to Account > Sharing
- Tap Leave next to the shared home
Geofencing with Multiple Users
When multiple users have geofencing enabled:
- Away mode activates only when all users have left
- Home mode activates when the first user returns
Each user must set up geofencing on their own device.
Transferring Ownership
To transfer ownership of thermostats to a new primary user (e.g., when moving):
- Primary user removes the thermostat from their account
- New owner pairs the thermostat to their account
The thermostat must be removed from the original account before it can be paired to a new one.
